Queen Sugar Returns For Season 2

 

Out director, Cheryl Dunn will join the new season of Queen Sugar, the TV series 2nd season.

Queen Sugar was created by director and screenwriter, Ava DuVernay (Selma).

Ava DuVernay made buzz when she revealed that directors Cheryl Dunye, Kat Candler and Aurora Guerrero would join her for the 2nd season of the hit TV Series Queen Sugar.

Queen Sugar follow the lives of 2 sisters and their brother after their father passes away & leaves them the family sugar cane farm in Deep South, Louisiana.

The oldest sister Nova (Rutina Wesley, “True Blood”) is bisexual. She is a journalist and activist. Nova’s sister Charley (Dawn-Lyen GardnerUnforgettable”) is married to a basketball star and her brother Ralph Angel (Kofi SiriboeAwkward”) is eager to leave his past behind to start a new life.

Queen Sugar TV series is based on the book by Natalie Baszile.

Oprah Winfrey (Own) is an executive producer with Ava DuVernay & Melissa Carter.
