A new day to start fresh. It’s a weird concept for me, writing this blog. I’m normally the quiet one in the background, posting other peoples ideas and work. Today I’m writting my own stuff. How Notstraight came about. It’s been a long process with many changes along the way with different ideas and concepts. A friend recommended a lesbian movie about 10 years ago to my then girlfriend and me. Both of us were in shock to realise that there were queer movies out there. From that awaking concept, the idea was born…..build a library of LGBT movies for all genres to enjoy and spread the word that we could watch  same sex ideas and lives come alive on the screen. It snowballed from there. Ideas of lifestyle products that we love and cannot do without also became our focus. Lifestyle products isn’t a queer thing but a recommended suggestion of products that work for me and for my ex (now). Our two cats got really ill from the nasty clay kitty litter we were using. This inspired us to start the natural health pet product section to share alternative ideas for our animals that we love and call family. To show our appreciation and dedication to LGBTIQQ2S communities, we have contests where by anyone could enter to win a queer movie of your chosen genre or a natural health product to test out the product before incorporating it into your own everyday lifestyle. To round off the creative edge, we have two South African artists who have shared their art with us in North America. They are both extremely talented which got me all excited to find more artists to share their art with us, so more to come in 2010. Notstraight is always on the look-out for fresh talent and ideas.
